AIRPORT ADVISORY COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES

Attended by: Mike Jolovich, Dennis Carpenter,

Jim Ward, Sonny Pacheco, Rob Schultz & Gary Bumgarner

* = Need Action

RLG = Kremmling

GNB = Granby

Continued from previous meetings

County Items

* Hole in asphalt and stress cracks from heavy truck traffic from last years new ramp work, needs repaired in RLG. Ron L. to check with Scott at Columbine Hills Concrete.

* Advisory committee knowing ahead of time as far as possible to closure of GNB airport.

* In anticipation of 20-30 extra aircrafts this summer from GNB, we need to plan for tie downs on the northern expansion of ramp at RLG (to north to new ramp)

* If this recommendation comes to pass we believe it should come to further airport specs with 2 or 3 inches of road base or recycled asphalt.

* Letting pilots or interested persons know as to time of meeting. Mike J will let GNB know & RLG will post meeting time at RLG F.B.O.

* Post # of county dispatch at airports for after hours help.

* Talked water permitted to hangers in RLG for washing airplanes. No sewer required for these hangers, as are private owners & they are just keeping planes & floors clean, no maintenance. Commercial maintenance operation would require oil & grease traps. Committee believes this should be allowed as keeping airplanes clean is a safety factor. Dennis is going to approach town for permission.

Master Plan Review

* T-Hangars layout is needed on master plan as per terminal area drawing, file name 5739602, date 7-13-05, project #055739

* Need to check all developed areas as projected on master plan for elevation of drainages.

* Attach agreement between engineer & professional services to master plan. (Such as Rocky Mountain Mapping Consultants, Armstrong Consultants and any previous work/studies done on RLG).

* On McElroy Field Airport Master Plan Executive Summary Draft please get map with Kremmling on it.

* Area slated to be removed should not be until last part of development, if at all. (aprons, runway)

* With these exceptions the Airport Advisory Committee recommends the McElroy Field Airport Master Plan Draft Report dated April 10, 2007 be approved by the commissioners & town board at no additional cost to either.

* Colorado discretion/aviation grant applicants GNB & RLG were discussed. Committee needs information when it is available for feedback to manager if wanted.

New Items

* Committee meets every 6 weeks on Sunday, 3 pm at RLG unless a special meeting is called

* Prepare the 20 tiedowns @ RLG to future ramp grade & move fill to future T Hanger pads

* Need one of the following for future waste @ RLG hangars
o City Sewer Line
o Holding Tank
o Septic Tank & Field

* Water at the airport needed to some future hangars

* Anything that belongs to the hangar owner, is safe and not a health issue may be stored in a Non commercial hanger as long as there is also an aircraft with N-number resident.

* Hangar tie down fees are not recommended but decided on by FBO.

* Is engineering at RLG Master Plan done with elevations on everything?

* Can there be an elevation established for future hangar. We feel it should be done with the $9,500 study.

* Make sure the master plan includes all elevations

* The county has done site work on ramp work and hangar pads in the past.

* We recommend the airport committee meet with the commissioners after every third committee meeting or as needed.

* Please don’t use heavy loader on GNB airport during spring thaw

* Please review previous items for action and advise committee by email.

* Next committee meeting March 30th, at 3pm at RLG.

* Committee to meet with commissioners on the 19th of February at 1:30 pm

Respectfully submitted,

Airport Advisory Committee
